MoDOT will close all lanes of Westbound I-70 for 30 minutes around midnight Aug. 23.
MoDOT is giving us a taste of things to come with some temporary closures later this week. Two lanes on westbound Interstate 70 will close on the Blanchette Bridge to the Fifth Street interchange overnight Thursday Aug. 23. In addition, the westbound ramp to northbound Fifth Street will also close between 10 p.m. Aug. 23 and 5 a.m. Aug. 24. All lanes of westbound I-70 will close around midnight for about 30 minutes so Missouri Department of Transportation contractors can remove the overhead sign truss located between the end of the bridge and the Fifth Street exit. The Missouri Department of Transportation will close four of the five eastbound Interstate 70 lanes Saturday night, July 21, weather permitting. It will reduce eastbound I-70 to just one lane open. Crews will remove and replace overhead signs on eastbound I-70 and redo some striping. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes. The multiple lane closures will occur between Mid Rivers Mall Drive and Route 370 from 9 p.m. Saturday, July 21 until 10 a.m. Sunday, July 22. Overnight crews will be working on Hwy. K bridge repairs.
The Missouri Department of Transportation will have two lanes closed on eastbound Interstate 70 over Route K from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday, May 2 and Thursday, May 3. Crews will be working overnight on some bridge repairs. Motorists are advised to avoid eastbound I-70 if possible to minimize delays.

The Blanchette Bridge will undergo its annual safety inspection.
It's annual safety inspection time for the Blanchette Bridge, and MoDOT will be closing some lanes of Interstate 70 starting July 26. The work will continue through Aug. 8. Crews will start with the westbound bridge July 26 - Aug. 1, closing the two right lanes and then the two left lanes. Lanes will close from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. during this first phase. Inspection then moves to the eastbound bridge Aug. 1 - 8 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. As before, crews will start with the right lanes and move to the left lanes. On Monday, Juy 5, MoDOT will be closing lanes for repair and resurfacing.
Starting tonight, July 5, MoDOT will be closing lane on two sections of Interstate 70 in St. Charles County for repair and resurfacng. The two sites are: Weather permitting, a lane in both directions will close at 9 p.m. A second lane will close at 11 p.m., and all lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. the following day.
