A September 24, 2013 trial date has been set for Lester Davis, the Wentzville man accused of shooting a gun in a local barber shop. Davis was arrested for a shooting at All Cuts barber shop on Dec. 18, 2012. He was charged with three felony counts of first degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm. St. Charles County Circuit Court Judge Matthew Thornhill on Tuesday denied a bond reduction request for Lester Davis, who is accused of firing shots Dec. 18 at another man inside All Cuts Barber Shop in Wentzville. During a preliminary hearing Tuesday afternoon at the St. Charles County Courthouse, Luby and Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Jillian Anderson questioned the victim, Keith Young, the barbershop owner and a Wentzville Police detective who investigated the shooting. “People look at this and say, ‘You know what? Lester Davis, 57, of Wentzville, who was charged with 1st Degree Assault-Firearm, Armed Criminal Action and Unlawful Use of a Weapon after a shooting at a Wentzville barber shop, is scheduled for a preliminary hearing today at the St. Charles County Courthouse at 2 p.m. UPDATE: At the hearing, the judge will hear hear argument on setting bond for Davis.
