Liberty High School on Schedule for Fall 2013 Opening

The first class of freshmen will enter the halls of Liberty High School for the 2013-2014 school year.

Construction on Liberty High School is proceeding according to schedule, according to Bruce Dell of Hoener Associates, Inc. The third high school for the Wentzville School District, located on Sommers Road in O'Fallon, will see it first students this fall, when this year's Frontier Middle School eighth graders become Liberty's first class of freshmen. In a report to the Wentzville School District Board of Education last week, Dell said that the 100 and 200 halls had light fixtures installed and ceiling tile installation underway. The 300 and 400 halls have some exterior studs placed and exterior sheathing installed. In the kitchen, the cooler and freezer have been installed and other equipment will be installed in May. Frontier Middle School Principal to Move to Newly-Named Liberty High School

At Thursday's Board meeting, the Wentzville School Board selected a principal, name, mascot and colors for the new high school.

The Wentzville School District Board of Education has selected current Frontier Middle School Principal Mr. Phil Ragusky to lead the new high school when it opens next year. The Board has voted unanimously to name the school Liberty High School, based on the suggestions of students, parents and staff members. The Board also took that input into consideration and selected the Eagle as mascot and blue, red, and white as the school colors. Mr. Ragusky has spent the last 25 years in education, and has served the Wentzville School District for the past nine years as a middle school principal.
