Ball was the 58th pick overall. Ball, the Football Bowl Subdivision's all-time leading touchdown scorer, was a Heisman finalist in 2011 as a star running back for the Wisconsin Badgers. Wentzville-native Montee Ball has been projected to be selected in the 2013 NFL Draft as high as No. 18 with the Dallas Cowboys. But most pundits think he's slated for a second round pick at best. The NFL Draft begins April 25.

Montee Ball rushed for an even 100 yards and scored a touchdown, but it wasn't enough to overcome Stanford as the Wisconsin Badgers lost 20-14 in the Rose Bowl on Tuesday. Ball, the Timberland High School graduate, played his final game in the NCAA, where he's scored the most rushing touchdowns in FBS history. Ball scored early in the second quarter on an 11-yard run that cut Stanford's lead in half. Ball's 100 yards led all rushers in the game. This season, Ball became the NCAA's career touchdown leader—with 82—during a game at Penn State on Nov. 24. On Saturday, Ball broke the all-time career touchdown record in FBS college football.
On Nov. 24, Wisconsin running back and former Timberland football star Montee Ball broke the all-time career touchdown record in FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision) college football. Ball’s 17 yard touchdown run in the first quarter was the 79th of his career, a Wentzville School District press release reported, breaking the 13-year-old record set by Miami (Ohio) running back Travis Prentice. With that record, Ball passed former All-American running backs like Marshall Faulk, Ron Dayne, Cedric Benson and Ricky Williams. But will the record assure Ball of a Heisman nomination? The former Timberland football player was attacked in the early morning hours of Aug. 1 in Madison.
ESPN reported Wednesday that an arrest has been made in the attack on former Timberland football standout and Heisman Trophy finalist Montee Ball. The early-morning August 1 attack in Madison, WI sent Ball to the hospital for two hours. He was treated for a concussion and facial injuries. According to ESPN, three men were arrested and face charges for battery. The men are Wendell J. Venerable, Deonte J. Wilson and Robert A. Wilks. ESPN reported that Police have said the attack may have been related to an altercation at a house party that Ball attended a few days earlier, though detectives say they have no evidence suggesting Ball was involved in that fight. Washington Post blogger Cindy Boren reported today that University of Wisconsin football players and Timberland High School grad Montee Ball suffered a concussion and facial injuries when he was attacked early Wednesday. It is not sure whether Ball will join his fellow Badger gridders in the team's first practice, which was scheduled for Monday. Madison police reported that Ball was attacked by five men around 2:15 a.m. Wednesday. The report states: A 21-year old man was attacked while walking in the 500 block of University Ave. early this morning. Witnesses said five men jumped the victim. Montee Ball, perhaps the most prolific football player to ever come out of the Wentzville School District, was attacked early Wednesday morning by a group of five men in what police are calling an "unprovoked assault", ESPN reports. Ball, who graduated from Timberland High School and was a runner up for last season's Heisman Trophy, suffered head injuries from the attack but was released from a nearby hospital after a two-hour stay.
