A 32-year-old man faces his fifth charge of driving while intoxicated after he could not complete a sobriety test because he could not stand up, according to a St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department report. Sean M. Herod, 32, of the 10100 block of Schultz in Foristell, was charged with DWI as a chronic offender, a class B felony. Nine days after Herod successfully completed probation for two DWI convictions in 2006, St. Charles County Sheriff’s deputy pulled Herod over for driving erratically on Highway 94 near Westwood Drive just east of Weldon Spring. A St. Charles County man, who is on probation for 2009 drug charges, pulled a knife on detectives and St. Charles County Sheriff’s deputies outside a home Jan. 29. After officers disarmed Thomas J. Rockenstein, he said, “I wish you would have killed me. I’m going to jail forever.” Rockenstein, 55, pleaded guilty to several drug charges in April 2009. He received a 15-year sentence, but the sentence was suspended and Rockenstein was placed on five years probation. A man on probation for burglary was charged Thursday with misdemeanor stealing from Kohl’s in Wentzville. Xavier O. White, 18, of Wentzville, was working for Kohl’s when he took clothing and shoes, according to a Wentzville Police report. He entered a transaction of $90 on his register, leaving a total of $3.32. He then put the clothes and shoes in a bag behind his register and took them after his shift. The store’s loss prevention supervisor told Wentzville Police he saw the incident on closed circuit television on Feb. 27. There were three separate stealing incidents, including one on March 10, according to the report. White was placed on probation March 6 after he was found guilty of a July 14 burglary in Wentzville.
