Wentzville and Lake Saint Louis Fireworks Displays Will Continue as Planned

The severe heat and drought conditions have prompted some cities to cancel or postpone, but Lake Saint Louis and Wentzville displays will go on as planned.

Wentzville Parks Director Mary Jo Dessieux told Wentzville Patch that the fireworks display planned as part of the city's Fourth of July observance will go on as planned. "We always have fire trucks standing by," Dessieux said. The fireworks cap off the city's day-long celebration, which includes a parade, free swimming, live music and other activities at Progress Park. Lake Saint Louis Ambassadors President Karen Little told Patch that Lake Saint Louis' display would also continue as planned. "I have absolute respect for a city's concern for the safety of their citizens," Little said. "We're in better shape than most, because we shoot the fireworks out over the lake." Another viewing spot is behind the hospital.   more ›
