The new contract for the lease of the Rotary Park Renaissance Faire site would replace an agreement made in 2005.
On Wednesday, May 8, the Wentzville Board of Aldermen will be considering a new contract with Renaissance St. Louis (R.S.L.), the parent company of the St. Louis Renaissance Faire. However, R.S.L. officers objected to provisions in the new contract, a city source told Patch. The officers insist that the city honor the present contract, dated June 2005. The sticking point of the new contract is a condition that the Faire must hire overnight security if overnight camping is to be allowed on the site. The Faire would be required to have a minimum of two uniformed officers during event hours and one officer for overnight patrol. If the Faire chooses, two armed licensed security personnel can be substituted for each police officer. The Faire …

Renaissance St. Louis, the parent 501(c)(3) company that runs the fair, promised to add extra overnight security and require RVs to pump their holding tanks weekly.
On Wednesday night, the Wentzville Board of Aldermen reversed an earlier decision to not allow RVs to camp at Rotary Park during the Renaissance Faire. The board had banned RVs after an incident during last year's event when sewage from an RV was found dumped on the lower field where Renaissance Faire merchants and performers park their RVs for a maximum of six weeks during the event. The fair, located in Wentzville's Rotary Park, has taken extra precautions for the triple-digit temperatures expected this week.
The St. Charles County Fair opens today, Tues., July 24 at Wentzville's Rotary Park, and runs for the next five days. With temperatures expected to hit 105 degrees Tuesday and Wednesday and then to hover just below that through the weekend, fair organizers have taken some extra precautions for this year's event. Ed Siesenop, fair board president, told Patch that misters have been set up, and a cooling tent and an air-conditioned trailer are available for overheated patrons to take a break from the brutal temperatures. Extra paramedics will be on site, and fair staff have been advised about identifying symptoms of heat exhaustion. This is the year's biggest event for 4-Hers. Livestock —including sheep, rabbits, goats, poultry, cows and …

The Faire, this weekend in Wentzville's Rotary Park, features singing, comedy, jousting, craft demonstrations and more.
If money is tight for a big trip this summer, you can still travel back in time to a 16th century France full of jousters, strolling minstrels, sword fights and more during the 14th annual St. Louis Renaissance Faire this weekend at Rotary Park in Wentzville. Bob Stanza, president of the Renaissance Faire’s board of directors, said the Faire offers equal parts education and entertainment, with some enthralling elements. “If they haven’t been there before, certainly they want to go see the jousting, because that’s something you’re typically not going to see (elsewhere),” he said. Unlike the TV program “Full Metal Jousting,” where riders can take some vicious hits, the jousters here are trying to give people a show and still walk away …

I have been performing at the Faire for 14 years and this year I was pressured out. Ethically, I cannot comment further, but I will say that the Faire staff has a tendency to "effectively spin a story in a magical sort of way." I encourage people to talk to the large group of staff that left the Faire a few years ago...   more ›
