Trigger Man Sentenced in Drug Deal-Turned-Murder of Wentzville Man

Ron Rico Patton pleaded guilty in exchange for a 24-year prison sentence.

The St. Louis Post Dispatch reported that Ron Rico Patton, 18, of St. Louis has been sentenced to 24 years in prison for the murder of Daniel Brennan of Wentzville in 2010. Patton said in court that his intention had only been to rob Brennan, but that he had panicked and shot him. In a deal with prosecutors, Patton pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, attempted robbery and armed criminal action. He will be eligible for parole in about 20 years. A Lake Saint Louis-area man, Jeffery D. Lottie, was found guilty of the murder in September and received a life sentence. Wentzville Tattoo Shop Owner Sentenced to 20 Years on 23 Charges

The former Wentzville businessman installed a hidden camera in a unisex restroom at the shop, which led to a myriad of charges against the owner.

A former Wentzville tattoo shop owner was sentenced Monday to 20 years in prison. The man. Bruce Hymes, 42, of Wentzville, pleaded guilty Sept. 7 to 19 charges and no contest to four more charges. Circuit Court Judge Jon A. Cunningham sentenced Hymes Monday. Hymes first was arrested in August 2011 after an employee at Full Moon Studios, 1433 Wentzville Parkway, found a video camera hidden in an air duct in a restroom used by employees and customers. When the employee confronted Hymes, the tattoo parlor owner began pulling the camera and wires out of the duct. He pleaded no contest to the invasion of privacy and tampering with evidence charges, as well as third-degree domestic assault and one count of unlawful use of a weapon. Hymes pleaded…

Dardenne Prairie Man Sentenced for Child Pornography Possession

Man who pleaded guilty in September is sentenced to 51 months in prison.

A Dardenne Prairie man was sentenced Wednesday to 51 months in prison, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office. John R. Steiner, 44, pleaded guilty in September to possession of child pornography between June 2008 and November 2009. He appeared Wednesday for sentencing before U.S. District Judge Henry Autrey. This case was investigated by Donya Jackson, an investigator with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and the St. Charles County Cybercrime Unit. Assistant U.S. Attorney Rob Livergood handled the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
