Community Living Inc. Theater Productions Enrich Lives of Adults With Disabilities

Annie Jr. marked the eighth-annual performance for CLI clients with disabilities.

As the curtains opened on Saturday afternoon, actors stepped into the spotlight and limitations were forgotten. The diverse cast of 33 individuals with disabilities took the stage at Saturday St. Charles West High School for Community Living Inc.’s (CLI) production of Annie Jr. “The cool thing is, everyone gets a part,” said Jodi Darrohn, CLI’s Director of Adult Recreation Services. Darrohn said she always makes sure to purchase a large cast script so no one is turned away. The mission of CLI is to enrich the lives of people with disabilities in St. Charles County, through programs and services including employment, residential and adult recreational services. Timberland Presents Classic Play Within a Play 'Noises Off'

Noises Off will be presented on March 14, 15 and 16 at Timberland High School.

(The following press release was submitted by Wentzville School District.) Timberland High School drama students will perform “Noises Off” on March 14, 15 and 16 at 7:30 pm in the Carl Reininger Theater. “Noises Off” is a classic British farce about a play within a play. Act one opens with the cast rehearsing with less than twenty-four hours before the show opens—lines are forgotten and nerves are frayed. In act two, we see the play during a performance one month later, from backstage where relationships are slowly being revealed and ruined, along with the play itself. Holt Theater's 'The Bully Plays' Examines Personal Experiences with Bullying

The program of six short plays will be presented at the Holt Auditorium on March 7, 8 and 9.

Holt High School will perform The Bully Plays: An Evening of Introspection on March 7, 8 and 9 at 7 p.m. in C. H. Jones Auditorium. This evening of short plays and graphic display challenges audience members to examine their personal views and experiences with bullying from a number of perspectives. The evening’s first act showcases a collection of five short plays developed by writer Linda Habjan as a response to the bullying incidents young people face daily: The second part of the evening showcases Alan Haehnal’s one-act play “The Long View.” Holly (Allie Sanderson) breaks out of a relationship with her domineering boyfriend Travis (Will Pendergast) and turns for comfort to the peaceful Nate (Justin Bradbury).  However, Holly’s …

Holt Student Reviews Clayton High School's 'Thoroughly Modern Millie'

Thoroughly Modern Millie, a musical written by Richard Morris and Dick Scanlan and with music by Jeanine Tesori, premiered on Broadway in 2002. The story follows Millie Dillmount, an independent girl from Salina, Kansas, who moves to the Big Apple in search of fame, fortune, and a single, rich man to marry. Holt High School Theater Department Presents 'Annie'

The musical story of Little Orphan Annie will be presented on November 15, 16 and 17.

Holt High School Theater will present its fall production of Annie on November 15, 16, & 17 at 7:00 p.m.  The classic musical with a book by Thomas Meehan, music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Martin Charnin brings to life the familiar story of the unflappable optimist Little Orphan Annie.  Among other songs, the score features the theater favorites “Tomorrow,” “Easy Street” and “Never Fully Dressed without a Smile.” Annie (Annika Mills) yearns to find her parents and escape the clutches of the evil orphanage mistress Miss Hannigan (Cara Delaporta). Timberland Drama Students Present “Murder at Crooked House”

The show, a parody of a classic murder mystery, will run on Oct. 11, 12, and 13.

The cast and crew of Timberland Theatre will present Murder at Crooked House, Book by Tim Kelly Music and Lyrics by Bill Francoeur on Oct. 11-13.   This parody of a classic murder mystery is one of the funniest musicals to come to Timberland High School. It has all of the suspense of a murder mystery and all the comedy of a classic sit-com.  The action takes place at the home of Rebecca Fitzwilliam, played by Kaci Manley. The Muny's 2012 Summer Season Offers Action, Adventure, Romance, Comedy and Surprises

From action and adventure to romance and comedy, there is something for everyone in the 2012 summer season of shows at The Muny in Forest Park. Mike Isaacson, The Muny’s executive producer, said the cast and crew relish The Muny experience. “We’re very fortunate,” said Isaacson, who took over at the end of last season for longtime Muny executive producer Paul Blake. “It’s fun for a couple of reasons. Comedies Offer Typing Monkeys, Trotsky Getting the Axe

'All in the Timing' is a performance of six mind-numbingly fun one-act comedies presented March 16-18 and 23-25.

The Theatre Guild of Webster Groves is offering patrons more bang for the buck with their current production of “All in the Timing.” It’s buy one ticket, get six one-act comedies. Comedy, however, just hints at what audiences can expect from these one-acts, all written by David Ives. “They are mind-numbingly fun, because they will blow your mind,” said Krystal Stevenson of south St. Louis, who has roles in two of the one-act plays. “They are kind of an interesting, existential view of the world in a way, and I think that’s what makes it more interesting, because it’s done in a very comical way that we all can relate to.” “All in the Timing” will be performed March 16-18 and March 22-25, with evening shows at 8 p.m. and the Sunday matinee …
