Wentzville's Response to Letter Carriers' Food Drive Tops Last Year's Effort

The National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive collected more than 70 millions pounds of food last year.

Letter carriers all over the county did more than deliver your mail on Saturday. They also collected food donations along their routes. Did you help out by putting some food items in the blue plastic bag the letter carriers left in your mailbox earlier last week? Then you helped our Wentzville-area carriers top last year's food drive total! The event, which the United States Postal Service calls "the nation’s largest single-day food drive" combined the efforts of 175,000 letter carriers nation-wide. USPS Postage Rates Increase This Week

New stamp will allow you to mail letters anywhere in the world for one set price of $1.10.

The cost of sending most letters and packages increased slightly on Jan. 27, when the U.S. Postal Service adjusted its rates to help cover the costs of delivering the mail.  Forever Stamps, the ones that remain good despite future postal rate increases, increased to 46 cents. Those stamps, along with other postage, can be purchased at Wentzville's United States Post Office or at Koviak's Postal Station in Lake Saint Louis. Automated Postal Centers Available Around the Clock

Post office lobbies are closed for Memorial Day.

United States Postal Service retail counters are closed today for Memorial Day, and there will be no mail delivery, caller service or post office box service. Services will resume on Tuesday. Customers who wish to purchase stamps, mail packages, or ship urgent letters or packages on Monday can use an Automated Postal Center. The centers, which look like a bank ATM and are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, accept credit or debit cards only. They can handle most of the typical post office transactions such as weighing packages and dispensing postage for Express, Priority, First-Class and Parcel Post mail.
