Volunteer Opportunities: Help SCC With Annual Rhythm and Ribs

Also, help out with the Missouri State High School Water Polo Tournament or Race for the Rivers.

Recycle City Open House/Race to Recycling Duathlon & 1-Mile Fun Walk/Run St. Peters hosts an open house along with a run and other events on April 27. Volunteer to help guide Recycle City Open House tours, assist with the Recycle City booth, or check in race participants, pass out water and direct bikers. Spring Special Olympics Help out at the Special Olympics track and field and aquatic activities at Westminister Christian Academy, 800 Maryville Centre Dr., Town and Country on April 27. Opening ceremonies begin at 8:30 a.m. with events wrapping up at 3:30 p.m. Volunteers are still needed for buddies and to cheer on athletes in the stands.  O'Fallon RSC 5K Run Walk and Kids Fun Run Up to 300 competitors, adults and children, will come out…

O'Fallon's 13th Annual Youth Service Week Organizations, schools, churches, scouts, and other youth groups are invited to participate in projects that impact the community from April 22-27. Projects may include mulching trees and beds in O'Fallon parks, flower planting, painting street signs, spreading playground surfacing fibers or other spring goals. Wentzville Firefighters Shovel Driveways as Part of Community Outreach Program

This was the first time the firefighters have offered the snow-shoveling service, and they hope it will grow.

On Friday, Jim Schram was just one of several residents that got some help from Wentzville firefighters who donate their time off to serve their community. After four to six inches of snow and sleet fell on the community Thursday, firefighters took the streets Friday equipped with snow shovels and snow blowers as part of the Wentzville Fire District's Community Outreach program. Schram's sister had seen a post about the firefighters' snow-shoveling service posted on the Community Outreach Facebook Page and tagged him, suggesting that he email the firefighters and ask for help. The firefighters made the offer of help several times via Facebook, asking anyone who needed help to contact them by email. Those asking for help received a …

GED Classroom Volunteers Needed GED classroom volunteers are needed to tutor adults in basic reading, writing, and math. Classes are held at St. Charles Community College as well as seven off-campus locations. One is sure to be close to your home. Volunteers must have a high school diploma and be at least 18 years old, positive, friendly, and patient. Training is provided and no previous experience is necessary. Calvary Church Offers Free Oil Changes to Needy

Oil changes are offered to single moms and deserving families a part of the church's community outreach.

Twice a year, the Calvary Church main campus in St. Peters and the Calvary church west campus located at Highway 61 and Dietrich Road in Wentzville provide oil changes for single moms and deserving families. There are no strings attached or charges for the service, which is a part of the church's community outreach ministries. The most recent dates were Oct. 20 and 27.
