Wentzville's new Sam's Club is on pace to open in October.
Just more than a month into the project and crews working on Wentzville's planned Sam's Club are already making significant progress to the much-hyped building thanks to a string of good weather. Crews have already erected two of the buildings walls and gas tanks for the Sam's Club's gas station were on-site and ready to be placed. The new Wentzville store, which will be located just west of Walmart, was first announced in February. A gas station on the Kohl's side of Bear Creek Drive will also feature 12 regular gasoline pumps and six diesel pumps, Tucker said. Diamonds all across St. Charles County has been busy in the early part of the high school baseball season. Even though the season is just two weeks old, plenty of action has taken place on the field. St. Louis Magazine is polling readers on who their favorite musicians are in its Best St. Louis Musician of All Time Bracket feature.
Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Wentzville resident Chuck Berry is among 16 finalists vying for the title of best St. Louis musician of all time. St. Louis Magazine, a locally-owned publication with more than 200,000 readers, is holding its Best St. Louis Musician of All Time Bracket. Berry, who is probably better known for his performances at University City's Blueberry Hill, is up against fellow St. Louisan-Michael McDonald in the Sweet 16 matchup. Berry defeaed Ike and Tina Turner in the opening round of the Rock/Pop bracket. Should Berry advance, he would face either Uncle Tupelo or Son Volt in the Elite 8 round. St. Peters Clean Stream Day The City of St. Peters is organizing a Clean Stream Day event on Saturday, April 14. You, your family or your organization can help! Volunteers will meet at City Hall at 8 a.m. to check in and enjoy free donuts, coffee and juice, then transport themselvesto a creek segment to clean up trash. St. Louis Cardinal fans in Wentzville will get an opportunity to take a free photo with the St. Louis Cardinals 2011 World Series Trophy. The trophy will appear at the U.S. Cellular store in Wentzville from 3 to 7 p.m. March 30. The store is at 1923 Wentzville Pkwy. Cardinal fans are invited to come to the retail location with their cameras or devices and get a photograph taken with the trophy at no cost. For those who forget their cameras, U.S. Cellular associates will have an HTC Flyer mobile tablet on hand to take pictures of the fans and can send the photos directly to their email accounts.
