A Maryland Heights man is accused of breaking into a series of storage areas and travel trailers at facilities in Wentzville and St. Charles. David Kellerman, 40, of the 2100 block of Butterfield Drive in Maryland Heights, was charged Wednesday with two counts of first-degree property damage in St. Charles. He was charged Friday with four counts of second-degree burglary, three counts of property damage, two counts of felony stealing (more than $500) and three counts of misdemeanor stealing in Wentzville. Maryland Heights Police arrested Kellerman Monday. Wentzville Police said William Held paid for the trash can, but not the items he stashed inside, with a stolen credit card.
A Wright City man was charged with theft after police said he snuck items out in a trash can. William Held, 39, of the first block of Appaloosa Way in Wright City, was charged March 26 with felony theft. Wentzville Police said security tapes show Held filled a trash can inside a box with items from Target in Wentzville, 1883 Wentzville Parkway. He then paid only for the trashcan and left the store. Held also used a credit card that was not his, police said. When they called the credit card’s owner, a woman told police Held had been staying with her disabled son and had been taking advantage of him, according to court documents. Police said Gary Dean Darby stole the computer from the Walmart in Lake Saint Louis.
A man was charged with stealing a computer from the Lake Saint Louis Walmart March 1 and pawning it in Hazelwood. Gary Dean Darby, 26, of the 9800 block of Rhythm Drive in Overland, was charged by the St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office March 11 with felony theft. Lake Saint Louis Police said Darby stole the computer with the security device still attached March 11 from the Walmart at 6100 Ronald Reagan Drive in Lake Saint Louis. Security videos show him stealing the computer, police reported. The computer was valued at $805. He then pawned the computer at a store in Hazelwood, police said. Just hours after he was released from police custody on a burglary charge, Wentzville Police arrested a Warrenton man Dec. 23 for stealing a car. Lucas R. Allen, 30, of the 600 block of Third Street in Warrenton, was charged Wednesday with first-degree burglary and theft. During the early morning hours Dec. 23, Allen went into a back room labeled “Employees only” at the Amoco gas station at 1450 South Service Road, Wentzville Police said. An employee called to him that he was not allowed back there, but he ignored her. While in the back room, he put a bottle of Crown Royal whiskey in his pocket and left, police said. A Wentzville woman faces criminal charges after police said she and another person broke into her neighbor’s apartment and stole an Xbox 360 game console. Karen Carter, of the 1100 block of Evergreen Court in Wentzville, was charged Friday with second-degree burglary and misdemeanor theft. Wentzville Police said Carter and another person entered another apartment in the 1100 block of Evergreen Court and stole the Xbox 360 and a cable. They then sold it to a pawnshop for $70, police said. Bail for Carter was set at $10,000 with the condition that she have no contact with her co-defendant. The Wentzville Police Department sought burglary charges against a man and woman from Wright City.
Once again vigilant citizens have helped the Wentzville Police Department make an arrest. The department issued a press release today about an arrest made in the theft of a stove from a house under construction in the 200 block of Wilmer Ridge Drive. The department received a call from neighbors in the Wilmer Valley subdivision around 10 p.m. on Oct. 9 reporting a suspicious white vehicle driving slowly through the neighborhood without its lights on. The vehicle stopped at a house under construction and disappeared from sight. Officers responding to the call identified a white 1993 Ford Aerostar minivan leaving the Wilmer Valley area and stopped it on westbound I-70. A tip from a neighbor and the diligence of the police led to the quick arrest of a Lake Saint Louis teen.
An alert citizen helped the Wentzville Police Department make a quick arrest in a residential break-in that occurred just this morning. The department received a phone call from a vigilant citizen around 9 a.m. The citizen advised police that someone was breaking into a residence located in the 300 block of Coley Court. The caller gave police a description of the car used in the burglary, and officers quickly responded to the area. Three St. Charles County men each were indicted by a grand jury Friday on seven first-degree burglary charges and multiple stealing charges. The defendants are: Larbi and Ballinger were indicted by the St. Charles County grand jury on seven first-degree burglary charges; Roberts was indicted on five first-degree burglary charges. Larbi faces 27 stealing charges and Ballinger has 21 stealing charges. Roberts was indicted on 15 stealing, two receiving stolen property and one second-degree property damage charges in addition to two charges of selling marijuana to an undercover officer.
