Police Report Involving Alderman Costs City $1K

Release of the peace disturbance report involved five hours of legal research by the city attorney.

A request by Wentzville Patch for a police report on a peace disturbance involving Wentzville Alderman Rick Stokes may have cost the city nearly $1,000 in attorney's fees, according to city officials. The cost appeared out of line with the cost for similar reports requested by Patch—including one from the same department in August. The police report was in regards to an Aug. 8 incident at Wentzville's Buffalo Wild Wings, where another Buffalo Wild Wings customer, Jason Johns, accused Stokes of not washing his hands in the bathroom. When Johns confronted Stokes in the parking lot of the restaurant, Stokes tried to pull out of his parking space before calling police. Ask any employee in the city and if they aren't too afraid of losing their job they will tell you about the dictators we have sitting in the board's seats. Board of Aldermen Plans Friday Night Meeting

Work session to begin at 9 p.m.

The Wentzville Board of Aldermen has scheduled a last minute work session following a retreat dinner this evening.  The board previously scheduled a board retreat for tonight and tomorrow at Hilton Garden Inn in Winghaven.  The work session is slated to begin at 9 p.m., following dinner in Winghaven Room I. Items on the agenda include: The agenda for the meeting was posted at City Hall at 5:17 p.m. Thursday, coming in just hours before the 24 hour Sunshine Law requirement for public meetings.  According to RSMO 610.020, at least 24 hours before a meeting, public bodies must "prominently post a notice of the meeting in its principal office."
