The second novel published by Lake Saint Louis Police Chief Michael Force and Assistant Chief Chris DiGiuseppi topped the regional best-seller list published by several St. Louis-area independent book stores for the week ending March 3. The Fallen, published by HCI Books, is a supernatural thriller-police procedural mix that expands on the concept of the first book. Four ritualistic murders and some unexplainable natural disasters that eventually coincide lead readers to further explore the series' theme: Why do bad things happen to good people?
