Green Won't Happen Overnight

Contrary to popular liberal beliefs, conservatives like to breathe fresh air and drink clean water.

To hear those are the left, we conservatives must carry around a bottled air supply as well as bottled water because we sure as heck don’t give a damn about what anyone else has to breathe or drink, especially the children.

I’m all for alternative forms of energy but since I don’t have my head planted firmly in my toches I realize that that’s not gong to happen overnight and that we need to explore and harvest our own resources such as clean coal and G-d forbid.. dum dum dum DUMMMMMMM… oil. Yes oil. The Obama administration doesn’t seem to get that. They’ll spend and waste hundreds of millions of tax dollars on bad ‘green’ investments e.g. Solyndra ($500,000,000.00).

CBS News counted 12 clean energy companies that are having trouble after collectively being approved for more than $6.5 billion in federal assistance. Five have filed for bankruptcy: The junk bond-rated Beacon, Evergreen Solar, SpectraWatt, AES’ subsidiary Eastern Energy and Solyndra.

Obama has gone out of his way to obstruct oil exploration in the U.S. and in the process is costing thousands of jobs and any chance of becoming energy independent, from placing a moratorium on drilling permits in the Gulf to denying the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline.

Hopefully with Nebraska filing for new permits based on a alternate route, Canada won’t strike a new deal with China for the oil and take the pipeline west. Obama will be forced to deal with this again before the election in November. Unlike Obama’s fictional ‘shovel ready jobs’ the Keystone pipeline really did have shovel ready jobs on hand. An estimated 20,000 jobs would have been created.

Yes, you may say that Canadian oil is still foreign oil but I’d rather deal with The Great White North than a sheik that is probably funding a radical Muslim sect that holds the U.S. in contempt even though the Apologizer in Chief kissed their collective butts on his ‘Apology Tour’.  See the new hard line Islamist government in Egypt as an example. 

By the way, when you plug in that Prius remember that 57% of the electricity generated in this country comes from coal burning plants. Be responsible but drill here and drill now and put people to work.

Obama in an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle: "So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can. It's just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted."
